Henrik Ibsen (March 20, 1828- May 23, 1906) "Norwegian playwright one of the four great ones of the 19's century Norwegian literature". He is also known for the founder of the modern prose drama. As a kid he dreamed about being an artist. At the age of 15 he was a apprenticed to a pharmacist in Grimstad. Soon after he went to irregular school for university candidates, and soon after he earned his journalistic writings. Also he wrote two play that same year

plays were considered scandalous in much of society at the time, when Victorian values of family life. For example "A Doll's House"
was a modern criticism of the traditional roles of men and women in Victorian marriage. Ibsen
protagonist, Nora, leave her husband in search of the wider world. Nora
role in the marriage was that of a doll thus the term of the title "A Doll House". Even her husband Torvald refers to her every time as his little "starling" and his "squirrel". Later in the play
she is blackmailed due to an impropriety she committed in order to save her husband's life. Next she decides she must leave him and their children, and leave her Doll's House to discover what was truly real and what was not.
